Company Overview and History

Superior Foundation, Inc. was incorporated in 1974 as a subsidiary of Steele & Moroney, Inc. The company became active in 1982 and separated from Steele & Moroney, Inc. in 1984. Recognized as the first and foremost merit shop engineered excavation support systems in the Washington Metropolitan Area, Superior Foundation, Inc. is a design-build subcontractor specializing in permanent and temporary excavation support systems and retaining walls.

Superior's expertise includes sheeting and underpinning with tiebacks and/or internal bracing; shoring of building facades; needling of walls, beams and columns; permanent retaining walls; pile installation including H-beams, pipe piles, timber piles and mini/micro piles; rock tiedowns and rock protection.

For twenty-five years, Superior Foundation, Inc. has enjoyed an outstanding reputation for their attention to detail and the personal involvement of the firm's principals in every project we undertake. One mark of a respected and successful contractor is the number of satisfied and repeat customers. Superior Foundation Inc. continues to be the contractor of choice among many of the leading general contractors in the Washington Metropolitan area.

Management

One of the major advantages to our clients is the hands on involvement of the principals of our firm. Among our many services are pre-bid consultations with developers, owners and others to establish the parameters, construction feasibility, and various alternates necessary to meet the excavation support needs of the project. Recognized as innovated problem solvers Superior's senior management is involved in each and every project from start to finish.

  Responsible for day to day operations of the firm including contracts, billings, insurance, bonding, change orders and field operations.

  Responsible for all bidding and overall responsibility for design and engineering.

  Responsible for all banking and accounting operations in addition to active participation in design and engineering.
• Ken Kretsinger - General Superintendent
  Responsible for day to day construction activities including scheduling of labor, material and equipment to ensure continuity and execution of the work.
